Continuous Improvement Engineer needed for an immediate contract role in the Augusta area of Georgia.
Seeking a detailed manufacturing / process professional with a proven track record for root cause analysis and problem solving. Overseeing a newer product line, this person will work closely with manufacturing, displaying a passion for critical thinking regarding quality issues and performing data analysis to drive continuous improvement activities! The right person for this key role will be able to implement and drive robust countermeasures for identified root causes that lead to quality improvement of both product as well as processes.

responsibilities:
- Serve as a root cause subject matter expert on structured problem-solving tools (5 Why, 9-Step, A3), but more important the ability to recognize and drive robust countermeasures to solve issues.
- Apply critical thinking to quality issues and perform analysis on data to drive continuous improvement activities
- Work closely with Manufacturing and other support groups in areas of quality system compliance and containment
- Update the document control system by providing updates to appropriate Work Instructions, Quality System Procedures, and Standard Work.
- Serve as project manager for any assigned projects
- BS Degree in Engineering, or 3+ years of related continuous improvement experience in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity and understanding of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems
- Understanding of Lean Principles, Six Sigma, and other problem-solving methods and tools
- Good understanding of consumer products, high volume lean manufacturing, and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes
- Excellent computer skills, analytical skills, planning and project management skills, as well as written and verbal communication.
