Our client, a premier heavy civil contracting firm with a decades-long track record of delivering high-quality infrastructure improvements across the Carolinas is looking for a Project Engineer. In this role, you will be instrumental in overseeing site engineering, project scheduling, and structural implementations. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree, a minimum of three years of professional experience, and a background navigating DOT projects.

responsibilities:
- Oversee overall project execution, ensuring timely completion, strict budget compliance, and the development of critical path schedules
- Review project engineering requirements and supervise the design and fabrication of temporary structures, including cofferdams, temporary bridges, and concrete formwork
- Supervise field engineers in site layout and concrete pour calculations, and assist with hiring, training, and evaluating site personnel
- Manage project administration by reviewing daily time sheets, calculating accurate pay quantities, completing daily diaries, and processing monthly estimates
- Procure permanent project materials and maintain accurate, up-to-date inventories for structural steel, lumber, and surveying equipment
- Civil Engineering Degree preferred
- 3 years of bridge experience required
- Must have Department of Transportation (DOT) experience
