A Senior Project Engineer drives innovation and operational performance across poultry processing plant projects based. This role leads the complete project lifecycle-from concept and design through installation, commissioning, and final handoff-to enhance plant efficiency and safety. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and external contractors, the engineer ensures all initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in engineering field, along with 3+ years of relevant experience with poultry or meat manufacturing. Candidates must have AutoCAD proficiency, and Microsoft Office skills are required for layout design, drawing retention, and project tracking. Leadership, analytical, and communication skills are essential to direct contractor teams, enforce safety standards, and execute capital initiatives. Candidates can work in Marshville, NC, Nacogdoches, TX, or Sumter, SC. Relocation is available for qualified candidates. Candidates can anticipate 50% travel at times to other facilities.

responsibilities:
- Develop and manage capital-budgeted engineering projects from concept through final handoff, establishing timelines and tracking progress
- Serve as the primary liaison between plant personnel and contractors, assisting with layouts, utility verifications, and weekend supervision
- Plan and lead job-site safety meetings, actively enforcing site safety policies across all project teams
- Coordinate utility requirements, including the relocation of existing systems and the installation of new utility lines
- Maintain and update as-built drawings, retention systems, and version control for facilities, equipment, and property
