Seeking a Sr Process Engineer for a high growth chemical manufacturing client in the Piscataway, NJ area.
The Sr Process Engineer would be responsible for chemical process design, equipment design, process calculations, pilot plant development, experimentation, statistical process control, and data-driven process improvement. The engineer will serve as a senior technical leader within the Global Process Engineering Group, supporting global manufacturing operations, capital projects, new product introduction, process safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives

responsibilities:
- Scale-Up & Process Design: Led process design and scale-up from lab to commercial production for greenfield and brownfield chemical plants.
- Engineering Deliverables: Authored PFDs, P&IDs, mass/energy balances, fluid/thermal calculations, equipment sizing, and control narratives.
- Equipment & Project Execution: Specified core process equipment, developed vendor bid packages, and led FAT/SAT, installation, and commissioning.
- Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Enforced API, ASME, OSHA, EPA, and NFPA standards; led PHAs, PSSRs, MOCs, and hazard evaluations.
- Pilot Testing & Optimization: Executed DOEs and pilot trials to resolve scale-up risks, optimize operating envelopes, and boost yields.
- Data Analytics & Troubleshooting: Used SPC, root cause analysis, and tools (Minitab, JMP, Python, SQL) to fix process bottlenecks and reduce defects.
- Automation & Tech Transfer: Defined PLC/DCS control strategies and partnered cross-functionally with R&D, Operations, and EH&S to transfer technology.
- Technical Documentation: Authored engineering reports, validation protocols, SOPs, batch records, and troubleshooting guides.
