Responsibilities
Responsible for driving manufacturing efficiency through the full lifecycle of 3D printed tooling and fixtures. This involves leveraging 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360) to rapidly design and iterate complex jigs and fixtures used in assembly and production processes. Key duties include hands-on operation and maintenance of 3D printers, swift modification of existing designs based on user feedback, and close collaboration with production teams to identify tooling needs and contribute to overall continuous improvement initiatives.
- Design and engineer complex jigs, fixtures, and custom tools using 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360) to optimize manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Manage the entire additive manufacturing workflow, including operating and maintaining FDM/SLA 3D printers and preparing files using slicing software.
- Rapidly prototype, test, and iterate tool designs based on direct feedback from production teams to ensure functional fit and form, dramatically reducing downtime.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing and assembly personnel to analyze tooling requirements and identify opportunities for continuous process improvement.
