We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Underwriting Representative to support the underwriting process for Medicare Supplement, Health, and Life insurance applications. This role is ideal for professionals with a background in insurance or medical services who excel at critical thinking and working independently in a fast-paced environment.

salary: $27 - $28 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: High School

Responsibilities

• Review applicant medical history, data, and interview notes to support accurate underwriting decisions
  
  
• Utilize third-party software to summarize and assess medical and health-related information
  
  
• Draft and send professional written correspondence to applicants or brokers regarding outstanding application requirements
  
  
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and efficient processing of insurance applications
  
  

Must Have: 

• Minimum of 2 years of insurance or medical experience, preferably within medical insurance or a pharmacy benefit management (PBM) setting
  
  
• At least 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in a call center or phone-based environment
  
  
• Familiarity with medical terminology and common conditions or prescriptions
  
  
• Strong organizational and critical thinking skills
  
  
• Ability to prioritize and manage workload independently in a high-volume environment
