Responsibilities
- Precisely apply high-volume, multi-invoice payments from builders, often requiring research to correctly allocate payments across 40+ invoices per check. This demands strong forensic accounting skills to look back at accounts and ensure correct application.
- Manage a portfolio of builders, including monitoring aging reports and initiating actions to place builders on hold when they exceed 90 days past due.
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, unapplied cash, and other complex billing issues. This role requires a strong attention to detail and a genuine enjoyment for research.
- Maintain excellent communication with builders regarding payment status, discrepancies, and inquiries. You'll also participate in bi-weekly meetings with the VP of Accounting.
- Work closely with the accounting and project coordinator teams, with potential for cross-training and merging responsibilities to manage builders from start to finish.
- Handle all financial information and company data with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the accounting department, including occasional rotation on the company's main phone answering system.
