Our client's finance department is undergoing an exciting restructure, and they are looking for a skilled Cash Apps Specialist to provide crucial support during this transition. This is a perfect opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with prior chas applications experience seeking a short-term, part-time role where you can make an immediate impact. As the Cash Apps Speci you will be responsible for processing a high volume of transactions, including the extraction and formatting of EDI files from lockbox details. What We're Looking For:

• 2-3 solid years of direct experience in an Accounts Receivable role.
• An Associate's Degree (AS) in Accounting is strongly preferred.
• A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently to complete tasks.
• Bonus: Experience working with Great Plains software is a plus

Responsibilities

• Process and apply daily cash receipts (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit card payments) accurately and efficiently to customer accounts
• Pull EDI files from lockbox details, accurately format them, and efficiently extract relevant payment information
• Identify and input invoice numbers from various payment remittances into the accounting system to ensure proper payment application
• Reconcile daily cash reports with bank statements and payment application batches
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, unapplied cash, and over/under payments in a timely manner
• Process customer refunds, chargebacks, and adjustments as required
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer master data related to payments
