About the Opportunity: We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading Fortune 500 engineering and construction company for a General Ledger Accountant to support their Oak Ridge, TN office. This is a contract-to-hire role offering full benefits and the opportunity to join a global industry leader known for delivering large-scale, high-impact projects around the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform account analysis and reconciliation
- Prepare standard financial reports and verify accuracy of documentation
- Analyze financial data and provide insights for corrective actions
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with U.S. Government Cost Accounting Standards and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field and at least 1 year of relevant experience; OR 7+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
- U.S. Citizenship (mandatory)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general accounting systems
- Working knowledge of GAAP, FAR, and Cost Accounting Standards
- strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Prior experience with Oracle Financials
- Familiarity with accounting systems and matrix organizational environments
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
