We’re actively building a pipeline of experienced Logistics Dispatchers in Jacksonville, FL for upcoming opportunities with leading companies in the transportation and supply chain space. These roles focus heavily on container dispatch, drayage, port and rail coordination, and OTR trucking — ideal for candidates who thrive in high-paced environments and are comfortable managing freight movement from terminal to final delivery.
We’re looking for professionals with at least 3 years of dispatch experience in port/rail operations or containerized freight. Familiarity with systems like eModal, PierPass, TMS platforms, ELDs, and port scheduling tools is highly preferred. You should be confident assigning loads, tracking container availability and chassis status, resolving service delays, and staying ahead of demurrage and detention charges. bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.
Pay rates typically range from $20–$24/hr, depending on experience and client need. These are full-time, office-based roles with the potential for temp-to-hire or direct hire depending on the employer. Responsibilities
- Schedule and dispatch drivers for container pick-ups and deliveries from major ports and rail ramps.
- Manage drayage operations including tracking container availability, free time, and return deadlines to avoid demurrage or detention charges.
- Communicate with port terminals, steamship lines, rail carriers, and customers to ensure accurate and timely shipment coordination.
- Assign OTR loads to drivers based on availability, proximity, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor driver locations using GPS and TMS systems to ensure on-time performance and resolve any service delays.
- Maintain up-to-date load status and report updates to internal teams and customers.
- Track and manage container status (in-gate, out-gate, chassis availability) across port and rail systems.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling with terminals, warehouses, and distribution centers.
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations including driver hours of service and equipment standards.
- Resolve issues related to accessorial charges, load reassignments, and service disruptions.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activity, load documentation, and carrier communications.
- 3+ years of dispatch experience in containerized freight, drayage, port/rail operations, and/or OTR trucking.
- strong knowledge of port systems (e.g., PierPass, eModal, Port of LA/LB, NY/NJ, etc.).
- Familiarity with Class 8 trucking equipment and chassis types.
- Proficient in TMS (Transportation Management Systems), ELD platforms, and MS Office Suite
