A client of ours in manufacturing industry located in Frankfort, Kentucky is seeking a Shipping Assistant to join their team.  In this role, you'll be the central hub for all shipping and inventory operations. You'll provide exceptional customer service while coordinating shipments, preparing all necessary documentation, and maintaining accurate inventory records. You'll also collaborate with various teams to ensure smooth and accurate processes from start to finish.  This is a full-time permanent opportunity offering a competitive salary and benefits package. 

salary: $42,000 - $47,000 per year

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key representative of the company, delivering exceptional customer service through prompt and accurate responses.
  
  
• Act as a central point of communication, coordinating with Material Handlers, Supervisors, and Shipping & Warehouse teams to ensure accuracy in shipments, purchasing, inventory, and record-keeping.
  
  
• Manage the full order lifecycle from confirmation to delivery.
  
  
• Process and distribute customer packing lists and bills of lading for Tier II shipments.
  
  
• Schedule and expedite Tier II shipments as required to meet deadlines.
  
  
• Prepare and receive direct shipment orders.
  
  
• Process and send ASN's (Advance Ship Notices) to customers via BASE2.
  
  
• Complete ship confirmations in the system.
  
  
• Receive inventory and process kanbans for Material Handlers.
  
  
• Print and distribute customer labels for shipping.
  
  
• Monitor back-order lists and short shipments, addressing discrepancies as needed.
  
  
• Participate in regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
  
  
• Scan all shipping and receiving documents to the Inventory Control Specialist for accurate record-keeping.
  
  
• Scan all incoming mail to the accounting department.
  
  
• Process billing and SIA mass production paperwork/labels daily.
  
  
• Verify the accuracy of orders entered by the customer service team.
