Responsibilities
- Claim Submission & Management: Prepare and submit accurate claims to various health plans and payors based on contract requirements. Review, modify, and re-bill any rejected or denied claims in a timely manner.
- Collections & A/R Management: Proactively manage and monitor accounts receivable, pursuing outstanding payments from different payors to determine appropriate collection methods and strategies.
- Denial Management & Appeals: Conduct thorough research to appeal claim denials, partial payments, and other payment issues. Compile all necessary paperwork and communicate professionally with carriers to resolve discrepancies.
- Customer & Payor Communication: Communicate effectively and professionally with external customers and insurance carriers regarding billing, payments, and outstanding balances.
- Cash & Payment Support: Assist the Cash department with payor backup as needed for payments received and handle requests for refunds or credits when applicable.
- Compliance & Quality: Adhere to all company policies, HIPAA regulations, and information systems security protocols. Meet or exceed established standards for productivity and quality in a high-volume work environment.
- Team Collaboration: Be flexible with shifting daily priorities, work overtime as assigned, and perform other duties as needed to support the team.
