Our client, a leading company in the logistics sector, is seeking a Manager of Rail Logistics to join their team. This pivotal role is for a strategic leader who excels at managing complex rail operations, negotiating contracts, and leading a team of specialists. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a freight payer and a deep understanding of rail logistics.



salary: $110,000 - $130,000 per year
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

Rail Manager/Logistics:

 - Own and operate 600 rail cars. Ship out of a few terminals

 - Ship 400,000 tons per year

 - Hazmat and non haz

 - Manage a team of 2 or 3

 - Negotiate freight rates

 - Work with terminal stuff

 - Work with logistics manager

 

Key elements:

 - Rate negotiation as a Shipper

 - if they have worked for a class 1 railroad that is equally as valuable

 - Negotiating contracts at a terminal 

 - Team is experienced and well versed in Rail 

 - They are rail logistics specialists and a coordinator. 2 specialist and 1 coordinator that has been there a couple of years. 

  - Current person on the team could have been a manager but he doesn't want that

  - Need to have been payers of freight
