Responsibilities
- Financial Leadership and Operational Oversight: Direct all core Finance Office functions, including accounting, payroll, fixed assets, endowments, accounts payable, and tax compliance.
- Reporting and General Ledger Integrity: Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger and chart of accounts, ensuring timely, accurate financial reports are delivered to all internal and external stakeholders in strict compliance with GAAP.
- Governmental Compliance and Tax Filing: Oversee the precise and timely preparation and submission of all regulatory reports and government filings, including IRS Forms 990/990T, indirect cost calculations, sales tax, and annual 1099 forms.
- Audit Management and Internal Controls: Lead the annual financial and government audit processes, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors, while continually evaluating and enforcing internal controls and financial policies to mitigate risk.
- Strategic Financial Management: Serve as a strategic advisor to the institution through active participation in campus committees, monitoring cash flow to ensure adequate reserves, and optimizing the investment of organizational funds.
- Policy Adherence and Collaborative Service: Ensure comprehensive compliance with IRS regulations, institutional financial policies, and foster a culture of excellent customer service and collaboration between the Finance Office and the wider campus community.
