Responsibilities
You will report directly to the Controller, taking ownership of day-to-day and month-end accounting functions to ensure zero disruption to the business.
- Month-End Continuity: Drive the month-end close, including complex journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- WIP & Job Costing: Act as the undisputed resource for job cost accuracy; maintain Work-in-Progress schedules and ensure costs are allocated correctly in Sage 300.
- Financial Operations: Oversee GL maintenance and support AP/AR leads to ensure timely cash flow reporting.
- Reporting: Assist in preparing interim financial reporting packages for executive leadership.
- Construction DNA: 5+ years of total accounting experience, with at least 2 years specifically in General Contracting or Construction. You must understand WIP, retention, and job costing.
- Systems Experience: Immediate proficiency in Sage 300 is highly desired.
- Contractor Mindset: You are adaptable, require minimal hand-holding, and can communicate effectively with both project managers in the field and executives in the office.
