Randstad is partnering with a nationwide leader in the Logistics industry in their search for their next Director of Accounting to join their team. This is a full-time, in-office opportunity based in Henderson, NV. The Role: Reporting directly to the VP/Controller, this is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the general ledger. We are seeking a motivated leader who is willing to be hands-on while managing the accounting team and assisting with their coaching and development.

Responsibilities

The Role:

Reporting directly to the VP/Controller, this is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the general ledger. We are looking for a motivated leader who is willing to be hands-on while managing the accounting team and assisting with their coaching and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Close & Reporting: Oversee complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including reviewing journal entries and reconciliations.
  
  
• GAAP Compliance: Prepare and analyze timely, accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  
  
• Controls & Strategy: Develop and maintain internal accounting policies , while identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation.
  
  
• Audit & Tax: Assist with year-end audit requests and ensure compliance with all government reporting and tax filings
  
  

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Experience: 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a management role.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related required; Master's Degree in Accounting and/or CPA peferred. 
• Technical Skills: Technical knowledge of GAAP and proficiency with an accounting ERP (Sage 100 is a plus); advanced Excel skills required
• Leadership Style: A hands-on leader who desires to maintain a positive, supportive, and growth-minded culture.
