Responsibilities
1. Benefits Administration (Primary Focus)
- Administer all employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k) plans.
- Manage the annual Open Enrollment process from communication to system updates.
- Act as the main point of contact for employee benefit inquiries and resolve complex claim issues.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of all COBRA, FMLA, disability, and Workers' Compensation claims.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations (e.g., ACA, HIPAA, ERISA).
- Process multi-state, bi-weekly payroll for all salaried and hourly employees using the company's payroll system.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry of new hires, terminations, changes in pay rates, and status changes.
- Calculate and process special payroll requirements, including prevailing wage, bonuses, deductions, and garnishments.
- Verify and audit timecards for accuracy and compliance with wage and hour laws.
- Prepare and submit required federal and state payroll tax filings and reports.
- Onboarding: Manage the end-to-end new hire process, including background checks, I-9 verification, new hire paperwork, and system setup (HRIS/Payroll). Conduct new-hire benefits orientation.
