Responsibilities
- Process requests for release of information by locating and retrieving PHI in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner.
- Safeguard patient privacy by verifying requestor type and release requirements per HIPAA and company policy.
- Reproduce requested information (via fax, scan, or photocopy) according to authorization and service-level requirements.
- Perform accurate data entry to log and monitor ROI requests using tracking software.
- Review and verify work for accuracy and compliance with state and federal laws before releasing information.
- Generate and manage documentation such as cover letters, pre-payment notices, and invoices; process payments as received.
- Collaborate across systems, maintaining procedural consistency between Iron Mountain and client facilities.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay informed of industry and regulatory updates.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support department operations.
