Responsibilities
Video Monitors work in the main monitoring room or in the mini monitoring room during monitoring hours. Our
hours of monitoring are from 6 pm to 6 am from Monday to Thursday and starting at 6 pm Friday until 6 am on Monday.
Video Monitors are responsible for watching our cameras on clients’ sites while looking for any suspicious activity.
This activity can be no call workers, open gates, transient activity, and anything else that could potentially cause
damage or a loss to the client’s property. The Video Monitor’s duties are to watch the cameras, call out any suspicious
activity, advise supervisors of the activity, notify the corresponding Police Department(s), and making contact with the
designated site contacts.
The job consists of primarily sitting in an indoor ergonomic office type environment. The current monitoring
room consists of 8 positions or seats strategically placed around the large room. Each seat has a desk, chair, fan,
keyboard, mouse, 65-inch commercial display mounted on the wall, and (2) 32-inch monitors also mounted on the wall.
The monitors primarily sit in a reclined position to see the screens mounted on the wall. Monitors are also allowed to
stand if they can still actively watch the screens. One or two supervisors will be working with the monitors. The mini
room has the same set-up except it only has 3 seats in the room and is used as overflow for when the main room is fully
staffed.
