Key Responsibilities
- G/L Management: Carry out precise reconciliation of payroll subsidiary accounts to the G/L. Ensure accurate capture and posting of payroll accruals and labor costs. Manage payroll deliverables for month-end financial close.
- Compliance & Auditing: Review and reconcile all federal, state, and local payroll tax filings and payments to ensure full compliance. Prepare documentation and provide comprehensive support for internal and external audits. Assist with year-end processes, including W-2 review, and support regulatory compliance for unclaimed property and workers' compensation reviews.
- Operations & Collaboration: Collaborate with departments to ensure timely and accurate payroll financial deliverables. Support regular payroll processing activities. Resolve complex inquiries related to G/L, payroll taxes, and workers' compensation.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Oracle Fusion is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills.

- Ability to interact professionally across all employee levels and external parties.

Responsibilities
Financial & G/L Management
- General Ledger (G/L) Reconciliation: Precisely reconcile payroll subsidiary accounts against the G/L for accuracy.
- Accruals & Cost Capture: Ensure all payroll accruals and labor costs are accurately captured and posted to financial records.
- Month-End Close: Execute payroll deliverables for the timely and accurate completion of the monthly financial close.
- Tax Compliance: Methodically review and reconcile all federal, state, and local payroll tax filings and payments to ensure full compliance.
- Audit Support: Lead support for internal and external audits by preparing all necessary documentation and materials.
- Year-End Activities: Support year-end processes, including reviewing final W-2s and assisting with year-end payroll audits.
- Compliance Initiatives: Assist with regulatory tasks like reviewing unclaimed property and supporting workers' compensation reviews.
- Inter-Departmental Coordination: Collaborate with departments to ensure all required payroll financial deliverables are met accurately and on schedule.
- Operational Support: Provide essential daily support for payroll processing, focusing on data accuracy and validation.
- Inquiry Resolution: Act as an expert to resolve complex inquiries regarding payroll taxes, G/L details, and other payroll-related accounting matters.
