lab analysis intern- summer 2026.

In partnership with our client, MilliporeSigma, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support the Contract Testing Services department in optimizing project planning and resource allocation for assay development. The intern will be instrumental in creating comprehensive task lists and bills of materials (BOM) to facilitate efficient project execution and ensure alignment with operational goals. This opportunity is based out of Rockville, MD. This is a 10 week Summer internship for 2026. Expected start date is June 1st through August 7th, 2026. This is a 40 hour/week and 100% onsite.



Who You Are:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering or Life Sciences or a related field.
• communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• An interest in gaining exposure to the biotech industry and understanding laboratory environments.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting while also taking initiative on independent tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Contract Testing Services team to understand the assay development process and cost components.
• Assist in creating detailed task lists for various assay projects, outlining all necessary steps and resources.
• Develop and maintain bills of materials (BOM) for assays, including all required materials, reagents, and equipment.
• Analyze cost data and assist in the preparation of cost estimates for assays, ensuring alignment with project budgets.
• Support the team in identifying cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements in assay development processes.
• Document all findings and methodologies used in cost development for future reference.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for enhancing the cost estimation process.
