An Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist is responsible for managing the full cycle of outgoing payments for an organization. The primary goal of the role is to ensure that all vendor invoices are processed accurately, approved by the correct departments, and paid on time to maintain strong business relationships.

Responsibilities

• Invoice Management: Reviewing, coding, and processing a high volume of invoices (often 500+ weekly) for accuracy and proper management approval.
  
  
• 3-Way Matching: Verifying that the purchase order, receiving report, and vendor invoice all align before issuing payment.
  
  
• Vendor Relations: Acting as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries, reconciling monthly statements, and managing W-9/1099 compliance.
  
  
• Disbursements: Preparing weekly check runs and managing electronic payments (ACH/Wire transfers).
  
  
• Month-End Support: Assisting with journal entries, accruals, and reconciling the AP sub-ledger to the general ledger.
