Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee concerns, conducting thorough internal investigations and providing guidance to managers on performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions to ensure a positive and compliant work environment.
- Oversee the end-to-end employee lifecycle, including high-level onboarding, offboarding, and the administration of complex leaves of absence (FMLA/CFRA), while ensuring all HRIS data remains accurate and actionable for reporting.
- Maintain and update the Employee Handbook and company policies to ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws (with a heavy focus on California-specific mandates like PAGA and Cal/OSHA).
- Partner with brokers and leadership to coordinate annual open enrollment, manage day-to-day benefits inquiries, and conduct periodic market benchmarking to ensure the total rewards package remains competitive in the local market.
- Identify gaps in existing HR workflows and lead departmental initiatives—such as implementing new engagement software, streamlining the performance review cycle, or enhancing diversity and inclusion (DEI) programs.
