Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately applying payments received from various sources insurance companies and/or patients to the appropriate accounts.
- Ensuring that cash postings align with corresponding journal entries and remittance advices.
- Processing and verifying adjustments to accounts receivable, which can include overpayments, denials, or other corrections.
- Assisting with balancing cash reports and creating invoices.
- Understanding and interpreting explanations of benefits from insurance companies.
- Scanning checks and verifying deposits.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare payment posting, billing, or revenue cycle management.
- Must have knowledge of, and experience with journal entries and reconciling remittances.
- Proficient in healthcare billing software and electronic payment systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal management.
- Familiarity with insurance payment systems, EOBs (Explanation of Benefits), and remittance advice.
