We are looking for an urgent backfill for an Assistant Controller to cover a 3-month FMLA leave. This individual will oversee the accounting team and manage high-volume workflows for multiple Delaware-domiciled P&C insurance entities.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can step in ASAP to guide the team through the 2nd Quarter close and Statutory reporting cycle.



salary: $75 - $85 per hour

Responsibilities

• Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close across multiple DE domiciled P&C insurance entities.
• Oversee Statutory reporting, all NAIC/DOI submissions.
• Ensure accurate bank reconciliations, accruals, intercompany charges, and journal entries.
• Lead preparation of audited financial statements and support external audit processes.
• Oversee premium tax, and regulatory fee filings.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and workflow documentation.
• Report/dotted line Director of Financial Reporting and Director of FP&A.
• Partner with actuarial on reserves, loss triangles, and financial analytics.
• Drive process improvement, automation, and crossfunctional coordination.
• Manage Junior and Mid-Level team
