In this role, you will handle customer inquiries over the phone and be responsible for processing transactions, providing insurance quotes, interpreting policy coverages, and reviewing incoming service requests and correspondence. The role is highly consultative, requiring the specialist to assess customer accounts thoroughly to identify unstated needs, recommend or sell additional Property & Casualty insurance coverage, and resolve customer issues.
***Must hold an active Property & Casualty License or obtain it within 3 months of start date.
Pay Rate: $21.84/hour.
Location: Hybrid in Howell, MI
Shift: Monday through Friday (7:00 AM to 9:30 PM Eastern time) and a rotating Saturday (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM).
Key Responsibilities: · Process customer transactions and have consultative conversations to respond to customers stated needs and identify unstated needs. · Accurately relay information and make decisions using established underwriting guidelines, procedures, and philosophy for states in which we are licensed to do business. · Requires the interpretation and verification of coverages and data using tools and resources available. · Must use established guidelines and techniques such as timeliness, quality, and effectiveness to respond to all inquiries. · Recommend and/or sell additional or increased coverage in appropriate situations and within specified carrier guidelines. Provide insurance quotes to policyholders as required. · Through a comprehensive account review process, successfully offer products and coverages to meet customer needs. · Review incoming correspondence, request additional details when needed and draft written communications in response to service requests received from customers and agents within current service level guidelines. · Adherence to Workforce Management is required. Ninety percent (90%) of the role is time spent on the phone. · Compliance with state and federal regulations and trustworthiness are paramount.
Qualifications:
· Must hold an active Property & Casualty License or obtain it within 3 months of start date.
· Minimum 1 year of industry experience working for an agent or carrier.
· Experience in a prior contact/call center preferred.
· Possesses strong customer service and sales skills and behaviors.
· Demonstrates flexibility in responding to changing situations, requirements, or priorities.
· Demonstrate proficiency on computer applications such as MS Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. and the ability to use multiple applications and monitors simultaneously.
· Driven to be proficient with service delivery and quality metrics, insurance policy concepts, billing practices and technical troubleshooting skills.
