The Opportunity As a crucial leader on our manufacturing floor, you will ensure our production lines run safely and efficiently to meet critical demand. You will directly manage shift workflows, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and maintain a safe, collaborative work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and train shift personnel, ensuring everyone understands their duties, safety policies, and precise batch record instructions.
- Quality & Compliance: Supervise daily production to guarantee compliance with SOPs and regulatory rules. Meticulously review product batch records for accuracy and complete verification signatures.
- Continuous Improvement: Utilize Gemba walks to monitor the floor, identify waste, and lead Kaizen events to boost manufacturing effectiveness.
- Troubleshooting & CAPA: Detect operational deviations, utilize structured root-cause analysis tools, and lead investigations in partnership with QA to implement timely corrective actions.
- Safety Leadership: Enforce full compliance with the company Safety Program to eliminate health and environmental hazards.
- Education & Experience: A BS in Chemistry or Engineering with 5+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience, OR 10+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience with a proven background in a supervisory role.
- Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of chemical safety protocols, advanced analytical troubleshooting, and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
- Operational Leadership: Demonstrated success using continuous improvement methodologies. Experience supervising teams within a union environment is highly beneficial.
- Assessment: Ability to pass prerequisite technical and leadership test assessments.

Responsibilities
Lead, direct, train and provide support to shift personnel
Assure employees understand duties, responsibilities, policies and procedures including product batch record instructions
Set and achieve objectives, both departmental and team
Empower and motivate team members
Foster dialogue and relationships
Participate in recruitment
Pre shift preparation
Organize team’s activities in relation to production schedule
Ensures availability of supplies and of equipment according to production needs
Maintain inventory of miscellaneous production supplies and parts
Monitor and assess department work flow and daily task activities
Monitor KPIs
Enhance productivity and product quality levels
Support to new product introductions by participating in operational mastery and corresponding training
Ensure the operational and pharmaceutical mastery of their units and processes
Direct supervision of production in compliance with our SOPs and regulating agencies’ rules.
Reviews product batch records for accuracy of entries, compliance to established limits, specifications and presence of all verification signatures
Provide hands-on leadership to ensure Quality and Compliance
Participate in writing and/or updating GMP documentation in coordination with QA
Write and/or update local operating procedures
Participate in qualification and validation in the unit
