We are seeking a Revenue Accounting Analyst for a 2–3 month contract assignment to support revenue recognition, month-end close activities, and a high-priority revenue accounting project. This role focuses on analyzing customer contracts, applying ASC 606 and/or IFRS 15 guidance, documenting accounting conclusions, and supporting audit and compliance requirements. Potential for extension based on business needs.

Location: 100% Remote (West Coast candidates preferred)

Responsibilities

• Review customer contracts and determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606 and/or IFRS 15.
• Identify performance obligations, transaction pricing considerations, and other revenue implications.
• Perform technical accounting analyses, including principal vs. agent and variable consideration assessments.
• Prepare accounting memos, supporting documentation, and revenue analyses.
• Partner with accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition.
• Assist with revenue-related SOX/ICFR controls and audit support.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules for month-end close.
• Support process improvements and special revenue accounting projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2+ years of experience in public accounting and/or corporate revenue accounting.
• Knowledge of ASC 606 and/or IFRS 15.
• Experience with audit support and internal controls documentation.
• Advanced Excel skills (XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).
• Analytical, communication, and contract interpretation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or CPA-eligible.
• Experience in SOX-compliant environments.
• Exposure to SaaS, subscription, usage-based, milestone-based, or other revenue models.
• Month-end close and financial reporting experience.
