Key Responsibilities
- Policy Development: Create, implement, and enforce comprehensive data governance policies and enterprise standards.
- Compliance & Quality: Continuously monitor and assess data quality, integrity, and regulatory compliance.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional business units to clearly define data ownership, stewardship roles, and accountability.
- Training & Advocacy: Provide training, documentation, and ongoing support to internal teams on data governance best practices.
- Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on data governance metrics, maturity levels, and areas of improvement to leadership.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Core Knowledge: A strong, foundational understanding of data governance frameworks and data management best practices.
- Compliance Savvy: Familiarity with major regulatory compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA).
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience working with modern data governance tools and technologies (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica).
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts for non-technical audiences.
