In this position, you will play a critical role in revenue cycle integrity by managing both manual and electronic payment posting. Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute accurate manual and electronic payment posting across multiple payers, accounts, and dates of service.
- Interpret, break down, and allocate lump sum payments, EOBs, EFTs, ERAs, and 835 files.
- Research, identify, and resolve complex payment variances, denials, and unapplied payments independently.
- Apply payer-specific rules (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, Workers' Comp) and proration logic.
- Match remittance advice with batch files, clearinghouses, payer portals, and lockbox files.
- Partner closely with internal billers, collectors, and external payers to optimize workflows.
- 3 to 5 years of healthcare payment posting experience (both manual and electronic).
- strong technical knowledge of insurance adjustments, coordination of benefits (COB), and secondary/tertiary rules.
- Advanced mathematical, data reconciliation, and analytical skills utilizing Excel.
- Experience navigating specialized EMR or payment posting software (e.g., Interactant/HCS, WellSky, or similar).
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment while meeting strict deadlines.
- Preferred: Previous experience in home health, rehab, or residential healthcare settings.
