Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome and greet all patients and visitors in person or over the phone utilizing established service standards.
- Obtain and input accurate patient demographic and insurance details into the Epic system.
- Verify active insurance coverage utilizing Real Time Eligibility (RTE) or official insurance portals.
- Manage and resolve Epic Workqueues (WQs) daily and coordinate walk-in testing schedules.
- Calculate and collect patient co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances while performing daily cash drawer reconciliation.
- Utilize a workstation on wheels (WOW) to comfortably perform administrative registration directly at the patient's bedside.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent educational documentation.
- Previous experience in medical registration, billing, or a healthcare administrative role.
- strong knowledge of health insurance verification, authorization, and basic medical terminology.
- Outstanding communication, listening, and interpersonal skills with a commitment to team accountability.
- Must clear standard onboarding clearances, including background verification, drug screens, physical exams, and full hospital health/vaccination mandates.
- Preferred: 1–2 years of college education, CHAA certification, and familiarity with Epic, ICD-10, or CPT-4 coding.
