- 3-5 years of purchasing experience in manufacturing, automotive, metal fabrication, or industrial environments.
- Experience with purchasing steel, fabricated components, dunnage, and production supplies preferred.
- Knowledge of automotive OEM and Tier 1 supplier requirements is an asset, but not required.

Responsibilities
- Ability to purchase hardware, materials, and steel for a job shop with little to no inventory.
- Purchase welding supplies, paint, packaging materials, and production consumables.
- Manage the procurement process from sourcing to purchasing of materials and supplies, and purchase order issuance.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure quality and timely delivery of products.
- Ability to work within budgets and identify high impact cost reduction opportunities.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and place purchase orders.
- Manage multiple orders, and must have the ability to multitask.
- Track purchase status, follow up on overdue orders, and expedite deliveries.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns that may arise.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve cost-effective purchase.
- Utilize company systems to monitor inventory levels and forecast material needs.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to understand material requirements and production schedules.
