Position Overview
A leading national consumer goods distributor seeks a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist. You will manage high-volume corporate B2B portfolios, resolve complex shipping deductions, and process daily cash applications. We need an analytical operator who understands supply chain billing and retail compliance.
Daily Responsibilities
- Cash Operations: Apply high-volume incoming funds from lockbox, ACH, bank wires, and credit cards. Verify remittances against credit terms and cash discounts.
- Deduction & Compliance: Navigate big box retail vendor portals to investigate, track, and dispute short-payments, unapplied deductions, and compliance chargebacks.
- Claims Tracking: Maintain daily logs for freight claims and sales orders. Reconcile Proof of Delivery (POD) and Bill of Lading (BOL) paperwork to clear disputes by Friday deadlines.
- B2B Collections & Credit: Monitor aging reports to minimize past-due balances. Review inbound commercial credit applications, run trade references, and manage credit holds.
- Month-End Support: Utilize Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) to generate AR reporting and post journal entries to close out the ledger.
- Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Contract Administration, and Customer Service to resolve billing discrepancies at the root cause.
- Experience: 2+ years of dedicated corporate B2B Accounts Receivable, Cash Applications, or Corporate Collections experience.
- Retail Portal Mandate: Direct history working with major national "big box" retailers (e.g., Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Amazon) and resolving their specific compliance deductions.
- Systems Stack: Proficiency with major ERP networks (e.g., SAP, D365, Oracle, or Great Plains) and intermediate/advanced Excel (Pivot Tables/VLOOKUPs).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; business or accounting coursework is a plus.
- Environment: Comfortable working on-site in a corporate facility attached to a distribution center.
- Stable, dependable first shift schedule with zero expected weekend or overtime hours.
