- 3+ years of direct, end-to-end in-house payroll experience in a high-growth tech environment.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience utilizing Workday Payroll for cycles, validation, audits, and upgrades.
- Proven experience processing complex U.S. multi-state payrolls and tax compliance.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and aptitude for mastering new payroll software.
- Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and thrive in fast-paced environments.
- Familiarity with international payroll processing (e.g., Mexico, Brazil, Europe, Canada).
- Prior experience in fintech, SaaS, or international public tech environments.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent certification.
- Education: University degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.

Responsibilities
- Payroll cycles: Execute end-to-end payroll tasks timely, focusing primarily on US payrolls
- Data integrity: Compile, validate, and submit accurate inputs to vendors, balancing outputs perfectly
- Reporting & GL: Generate and review journals, GL files, and custom ad-hoc reports
- Documentation: Maintain meticulous historical payroll files and clear audit trails
- Vendor management: Partner with third-party vendors and tax advisors to maximize processing efficiency
- Team support: Collaborate with the global team and cross-train to ensure operational redundancy
- Query resolution: Resolve employee and internal payroll inquiries in compliance with established SLAs
- Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to local, state, federal, and international payroll tax laws
- Audit & notices: Lead internal audit preparations and directly respond to regulatory agency inquiries
- Subject matter expertise: Stay updated on global payroll regulations, serving as a regional expert
- Process improvement: Drive workflow efficiencies, implement new processes, and document robust SOPs
- Strategic input: Contribute actionable insights toward team goals, KPIs, and scaling global operations
