Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Supervision: Directly manages, trains, evaluates, and disciplines 2-3 staff members while providing coordinated leadership and cross-training.
- Court Session Management: Oversees day-to-day court operations before, during, and after proceedings, including preparing cases, ensuring legal documentation is properly executed, and recording court findings.
- Docket & Record Maintenance: Prepares, cross-checks, and updates physical and digital arraignment, discussion, sentencing, and trial dockets.
- Financial Oversight: Supervised the collection of bonds, fines, and online payments; ensures cash security, prepares deposits, and submits monthly financial information for state-mandated fees.
- State Agency Reporting: Handles electronic filing of dispositions, remands licenses to the Kansas Department of Revenue, and ensures mandated reporting to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
- Legal Processing: Issues subpoenas, bench warrants, failure-to-comply notices, and restricted driver's license permits based on court instructions.
- Inter-Departmental Coordination: Acts as a liaison between the Municipal Judge, City Prosecutor, Probation Services, and the Police Department.
- Public & Customer Service: Provides de-escalating customer service to the public, explaining court processes and managing inquiries over the phone and front counter.
