- Own end-to-end AP disbursements, including electronic payments, checks, independent contractors, and tax payments on a timely schedule.
- Manage corporate expense report policy compliance and review submission guidelines.
- Lead the AP month-end close process, including accruals, reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger postings.
- Monitor key operational metrics, including aging reports, payment accuracy, and processing exception rates.
- Directly manage, coach, and mentor a team of AP professionals, fostering a service-oriented mindset and culture of accountability.
- Oversee team workload distribution, performance tracking, and professional development.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize AP workflows and system capabilities to support organizational scale.
- Maintain strict adherence to internal controls, SOX compliance, and segregation of duties.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal/external audits and annual 1099 filing preparation.
- Act as a cross-functional liaison for Finance, Procurement, and key business stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field required preferred.
- Experience: 3–5 years of progressive accounts payable or general accounting experience.
- Leadership: 1–3 years of supervisory, team lead, or senior-level oversight experience managing team workflows or direct reports.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data manipulation across multiple workbooks).
- Hands-on experience with mid-to-large tier ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data manipulation across multiple workbooks).
- Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with corporate internal controls (SOX environment preferred) and 1099 processes.
