Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Work Order Management: Generate, print, and distribute complete work order packets from our MRP system based on production schedules and customer orders.
- Material Takeoffs: Read basic blueprints and engineering drawings to accurately calculate raw material requirements (steel, hardware, components) before releasing jobs to the floor.
- Shop Floor Support: Work directly with shop supervisors and team leads to prioritize jobs, track order progress, and resolve material delays.
- System Accuracy: Keep the MRP system up to date with correct order statuses, inventory usage, and production completion notes.
- Cross-Team Communication: Alert buyers, engineers, and floor managers immediately about potential material shortages or scheduling changes.
- MRP/ERP Experience: At least [1–3] years of experience using a manufacturing system (such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor, or similar).
- Blueprint Reading: Demonstrated ability to read basic 2D mechanical drawings and understand component specifications.
- Basic Shop Math: strong basic math skills to calculate raw material quantities and account for yield/scrap.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent organizational skills with a strong focus on tracking revision levels and part numbers correctly.
- Communication: Clear, direct communication skills (verbal and written) to collaborate effectively across departments.
