Responsibilities
- Manage outbound shipments to customers and inbound deliveries from suppliers, including high-volume Mexico-to-USA lanes across all modes (LTL, FTL, dedicated, expedites).
- Oversee Mexico-to-USA cross-border processes, coordinating with customs brokers, managing drayage, and monitoring border wait times and detention risks.
- Negotiate freight rates and service agreements with U.S. and Mexico-based carriers while optimizing cross-border routing to reduce freight spend.
- Ensure on-time delivery performance for OEM and automotive manufacturing customers, serving as the primary escalation point for logistics or customs issues.
- Lead and develop the shipping and receiving team, providing guidance, support, and daily performance direction.
- Oversee preparation and accuracy of shipping and cross-border documents, including BOLs, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, USMCA documentation, and pedimentos.
- Utilize ERP, TMS, and EDI systems to manage shipments, track inventory movements, and maintain accurate ASNs.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, CBP rules, and Mexican customs laws while supporting internal and regulatory audits.
- Develop, monitor, and report transportation KPIs such as on-time delivery, carrier scorecards, transit performance, and freight cost per unit.
