In this critical role, you will serve as a frontline defender of the revenue cycle, ensuring patient coverage is verified accurately before care is delivered. You’ll play a key part in preventing billing friction, streamlining reimbursement, and providing clarity and peace of mind to patients regarding their coverage.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Prior experience working in a medical billing or insurance department within a hospital or practice setting.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Proficiency navigating payer portals (e.g., Availity, Experian, NaviNet, Medicaid portals).

Responsibilities
- Coverage Verification: Proactively confirm patient benefits, insurance coverage, and policy details using web portals, direct phone contact, and electronic clearinghouses.
- Patient & Internal Support: Field inbound calls from various clinic locations and patients to answer billing and insurance inquiries with empathy and professionalism.
- Estimate Processing: Prepare and process accurate Good Faith Estimates for upcoming procedures.
- Data Management: Thoroughly document patient demographics, policy specifics, and authorization details within the EHR system.
- Industry Compliance: Stay current on changing payer rules, policies, and reimbursement guidelines to keep verification processes smooth and error-free.
