About the Role
We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join a fast-paced transportation and third-party logistics operation. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with carriers and providing customer service within a logistics or transportation environment.
Responsibilities
Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, carriers, drivers, and internal teams.
Coordinate pickups, deliveries, appointments, and shipment updates with carriers.
Monitor shipments and proactively communicate delays, exceptions, and changes.
Respond to customer inquiries and resolve shipment, delivery, and transportation issues.
Maintain accurate shipment and customer information in company systems.
Communicate professionally by phone and email while providing timely follow-up.
Use Microsoft Excel to track shipments, maintain reports, and organize transportation data.
Use Microsoft Outlook to manage emails, calendars, follow-ups, and daily correspondence.
Work closely with warehouse, transportation, dispatch, and account management teams.
Escalate complex issues appropriately while maintaining ownership through resolution.
Prioritize multiple requests and tasks in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Qualifications
Previous customer service experience in a 3PL, transportation, logistics, or freight environment.
Previous experience working directly with carriers is strongly preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
Professional email etiquette and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Advanced problem-solving and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is organized, professional, responsive, and comfortable working in a transportation environment where priorities can change quickly. Experience communicating with carriers and customers is highly valued.
salary: $20.5 - $20.51 per hour
