Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Assists hospital patients in obtaining maximum benefit coverage by completing state and federal program applications, reviewing medical records, and tracking claim approvals in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interview clients in a hospital environment to determine eligibility for Medicaid, SSI, and other state or federal benefit programs.
- Complete and process program applications, reviewing medical records to expedite benefit approvals.
- Maintain clear communication with government caseworkers and hospital personnel regarding claim statuses.
- Document client interactions and application progress across internal and hospital database systems.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1+ years of customer service experience, ideally within a healthcare or clinical setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to interpret information within medical records.
- strong written and verbal communication skills across diverse educational and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Computer proficiency, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Preferred: Fluency in both English and Spanish.
