Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Process high-volume manual and electronic healthcare payments, interpret complex remits and EOBs, research payment variances, and reconcile unapplied payments across multiple patient accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Post manual and electronic payments (EFTs, ERAs, 835 files) accurately across various dates of service and payers.
- Interpret EOBs, coordination of benefits (COB), contractual adjustments, and secondary/tertiary reimbursement rules.
- Allocate lump-sum payments, research payment variances, and reconcile unapplied account balances.
- Utilize clearinghouses, payer portals, lockbox files, and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Collaborate with billing and collection teams to resolve complex denial discrepancies and support internal workflows.
- 3–5 years of healthcare payment posting experience (manual and electronic).
- strong knowledge of EOBs, ERAs, EFTs, 835 files, and payer rules (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, Workers' Comp).
- Excellent analytical and math skills with high proficiency in MS Excel and data reconciliation tools.
- Ability to work on-site 5 days a week during the initial training period, transitioning to a 3-day on-site hybrid schedule.
