Job Overview
We are seeking an empathetic, detail-oriented Practice Assistant to support daily receptionist and secretarial operations within a high-volume outpatient clinical setting (The Lung Center / Center for Chest Disease).
This role manages patient check-ins/check-outs, telephone triage, and record acquisition for a busy clinic seeing 60+ patients on peak days. Prior healthcare experience is welcome but not required—comprehensive Epic EHR training will be provided for candidates with strong customer service backgrounds.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Experience & Reception: Greet patients in a warm, professional manner; perform standard check-in and check-out administrative duties to ensure smooth patient flow.
- Phone Triage & Communication: Answer incoming telephone lines promptly using department-approved etiquette and standard greetings; route calls or messages accurately.
- Patient Records Management: Obtain, organize, and document necessary patient care records with high attention to detail in the EHR system.
- Operational Support: Adhere strictly to departmental service standards, maintaining patient privacy (HIPAA) and contributing to an empathetic, welcoming clinical environment.
- Customer Service Orientation: strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with an empathetic, present, and patient-focused mindset.
- High-Volume Capability: Comfort working in a fast-paced environment handling 60+ patients per day.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent organizational and documentation skills for accurate record management.
- Experience: Prior experience in administrative, secretarial, receptionist, or customer service roles (healthcare experience is a plus, but open to transferrable skills from other service industries).
- Technical Skills: Epic EHR training will be provided; general comfort learning new computer systems quickly.
