Southwire is seeking an experienced Interim Director of Financial Shared Services to provide temporary leadership coverage for a pivotal 4-month assignment. Reporting directly to the VP, Accounting Strategy & Operations, you will lead day-to-day operations across two critical functions—Payroll and Accounts Payable—managing 2 direct reports and an overall team of 20–22 professionals.

Beyond operational oversight, you will play a central leadership role in Southwire's Payroll Transformation Initiative, partnering across HR, IT, and Finance to drive project milestones, future-state process design, and organizational go-live readiness.

Responsibilities

Shared Services Leadership

• Direct Payroll and AP operations, coaching two direct reports and managing 20+ team members to maintain KPIs, SLAs, business continuity, and SOX/regulatory compliance.
  
  

Payroll Transformation

• Lead project governance for the payroll transformation initiative. Partner across HR, IT, and Finance to drive milestones, establish future-state processes, manage risks, and oversee testing and change management for go-live readiness.
  
  

Operational Excellence

• Evaluate and standardize AP/Payroll workflows using Lean/Six Sigma principles to drive automation, efficiency, tighter controls, and service quality.
  
  

Governance & Business Partnership

• Oversee month/year-end close, audits, and accurate processing of payroll, vendor payments, and rebates. Collaborate with cross-functional executive leadership to align priorities and communicate operational performance.
