Randstad is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in Power Supply Design for an established Long Island electronics manufacturer. This is a direct-hire opportunity for an engineer who can take designs from concept through testing, validation, and production.
Salary: $110,000–$150,000, based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop power supplies and power electronic systems
- Design AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion circuits
- Perform analog circuit design, analysis, simulation, and troubleshooting
- Develop schematics and engineering documentation
- Select electronic components based on performance and reliability
- Test, debug, verify, and validate power supply designs
- Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and perform root-cause analysis
- Support PCB design and layout
- Address EMI/EMC, thermal, efficiency, and reliability requirements
- Develop prototypes and support qualification testing
- Transition new designs from engineering into production
- Support existing products, redesigns, and component obsolescence
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- 5+ years of Electrical Engineering experience
- 5+ years of power supply/power electronics experience
- Analog circuit design background
- Experience with AC/DC and DC/DC converter design
- Experience with schematic design, testing, and troubleshooting
- PCB design/layout experience preferred
- Aerospace or defense electronics experience is a plus

Responsibilities
- Design and develop power supplies and power electronic systems from concept through production.
- Design AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion circuits and regulated power supplies.
- Perform analog circuit design, analysis, simulation, and troubleshooting.
- Develop electrical schematics and engineering documentation.
- Select electronic components based on performance, reliability, and application requirements.
- Test, debug, verify, and validate power supply designs using oscilloscopes and electronic test equipment.
- Troubleshoot complex circuit and power-related issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Support PCB design/layout and review designs for performance and manufacturability.
- Address EMI/EMC, thermal performance, efficiency, regulation, and reliability requirements.
- Develop prototypes and support qualification testing and engineering builds.
- Work with manufacturing, quality, test, mechanical, and other engineering teams.
- Transition new designs from engineering development into production.
- Support existing products through redesigns, component obsolescence, and performance improvements.
