Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and schedule QA technicians across all shifts to ensure comprehensive quality coverage.
- Conduct frequent inspections and audits, including pre-operational checks, production line audits, and finished product inspections.
- Manage and maintain our digital documentation system, ensuring all traceability records and non-conformance logs are up-to-date.
- Monitor critical quality points on the production lines, such as code dating, lot numbers, weights, and packaging integrity.
- Lead root cause investigations for internal issues and customer complaints, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Provide ongoing QA training for new and existing employees to reinforce food safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with sanitation, maintenance, and R&D teams to ensure smooth and compliant operations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the USDA Inspector, responding promptly to inquiries and ensuring strict adherence to regulations.
- Manage the food and microbial laboratories.
- Identify weaknesses in our Food Safety and Quality Systems and implement effective resolutions.
- Oversee the company's product hold policies, including the release or suspension of products that do not meet quality standards.
- Prepare the facility for third-party audits and customer visits.
- Immediately escalate any food safety risks and act with urgency to protect consumer health.
