Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Inspection: Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections on custom-fabricated metal parts.
- Blueprint Proficiency: Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T specifications.
- Precision Measurement: Utilize calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and protractors to verify tolerances.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate inspection logs and non-conformance reports (NCR) to ensure full traceability for aerospace standards.
The ideal candidate must possess a deep understanding of the sheet metal forming process. You will be tested on your ability to:
- Calculate Bend Radius & Bend Deduction: You must understand how different materials and thicknesses react during the forming process.
- Fold/Unfold Mathematics: Demonstrated ability to perform the math needed to calculate flat patterns from 3D designs (and vice-versa) to ensure accuracy before and after the hit.
- Material Knowledge: Experience working with a variety of alloys common in aerospace and commercial manufacturing.
- Experience in a quality role within a metal fabrication or machine shop environment.
- Mathematical aptitude specifically related to geometry and trigonometry for metal folding.
- High attention to detail and a "quality-first" mindset.
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working an early morning shift.
