As a Sr Coordinator, Transportation, you will play a key role in supporting the daily transportation and logistics operations within the division. You will handle essential clerical functions, manage backhaul coordination, and ensure smooth communication between drivers, vendors, and internal teams. Your primary focus will be on optimizing processes to drive operational efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain high service standards. This job is located in Woodburn, OR, where you will be supporting a local food distributor and helping with daily routes and dispatching, to ensure clients receive their deliveries on time.  This is a temp-to-hire opportunity, and upon being hire,d you will be eligible for full benefits, growth opportunities,s and more.  We have a few shifts available (will be decided during the interview process):

• Sunday - Thursday - 4:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Sunday); Monday - Thursday 2 PM - 10 PM
• Monday - Friday - 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM
• Monday - Friday - 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Monday - Friday - 7:00 PM - 4:00 AM

Responsibilities

Transportation:

• Answer incoming calls to resolve driver, sales, and customer issues.
  
  
• Communicate route updates to drivers.
  
  
• Utilize software (MS Excel, Omnitracs, Tandem, Kronos, etc.) to create, update, and share transportation reports and files (e.g., attendance, DVIRs, backhaul spreadsheets, dispatch schedules, logs, and metrics).
  
  
• Manage the damages and shorts process by notifying vendors/drivers and completing related paperwork.
  
  
• Assist in training and developing junior clerical staff.
  
  
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
  
  

Backhaul and Logistics:

• Communicate key information to support backhaul and transportation operations (e.g., arrival updates, dispatch info, scheduling, service updates, and delivery issues).
  
  
• Coordinate logistics by scheduling pick-ups for backhaul orders and vendors while optimizing efficiency, minimizing costs, and ensuring compliance.
  
  
• Complete necessary paperwork for logistics operations and share information as needed.
  
  
• Research new backhaul opportunities with buyers and replenishment managers to improve division efficiency.
  
  
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
  
  

The essential functions of this role include:
