Responsibilities
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Dock Worker / Forklift Operator to join our team. This role is critical to the smooth and timely loading and unloading of freight in our busy trucking terminal. The ideal candidate will have forklift experience, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload freight from trailers using a sit down forklift.
- Secure freight inside trailers to prevent damage during transport
- Sort, stage, and scan freight according to destination
- Inspect incoming and outgoing freight for damage or discrepancies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dock area
- Follow all company safety policies and DOT regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and drivers to ensure smooth operations
- Perform routine forklift safety checks and report issues promptly
- Prior experience operating a forklift (sit-down ) in a warehouse or dock environment
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to be certified
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced, physical environment
- Basic math and reading skills
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or different shifts as needed
