Responsibilities
- Position Summary:
The Production Lead oversees daily operations in the citrus packing house to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality processing of citrus products. This role is responsible for supervising production line employees, coordinating workflow, maintaining quality and safety standards, and supporting the Packing House Manager in meeting production goals.
- Lead and coordinate all citrus packing operations on assigned shifts.
- Supervise and train production staff, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Monitor equipment, materials, and staff to maintain continuous flow and minimize downtime.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections and communicate maintenance needs.
- Enforce compliance with company policies, food safety protocols, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Collaborate with quality control to ensure product meets grading and packing specifications.
- Maintain production logs, shift reports, and performance records accurately.
- Assist with scheduling, staffing, and timekeeping duties.
- Communicate effectively with other departments (shipping, maintenance, QA, etc.) to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
- Lead by example in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Support implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and process efficiencies.
